About

Dr. Dorothy Miranda understands the profound challenges organizations face when teams struggle to develop cohesively. Having witnessed and experienced the pain of disconnection within teams—where toxic environments stifle leadership potential—she became passionate about helping others avoid similar fates. This drive is deeply rooted in her personal journey, which included navigating systemic inequities in education, where she saw firsthand how foundational processes and cultural dynamics could hinder growth and success.

With a Doctorate in Learning and Leading in Organizations from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington, Dr. Miranda's expertise is matched only by her dedication to fostering understanding across diverse teams. Her extensive experience in education and faith-based organizations has equipped her to confront issues of racial inequity and implicit bias while developing actionable strategies for improvement.

Dr. Miranda founded Word In Season (WISE) Consulting to provide tailored coaching, workshops, and consulting projects that strengthen organizations through collaboration. She offers personalized 1:1 coaching, practical workshops, and facilitation processes that are rooted in a pastoral approach—helping clients to not merely learn but to achieve revelation about their unique team dynamics. Her clients leave inspired and equipped to transform, bridging gaps in understanding and shifting mindsets that foster growth.

Through her work with school districts and nonprofit organizations, including the New York City Department of Education and the San Francisco Unified School District, Dr. Miranda has changed countless lives, empowering diverse teams to harness their unique gifts towards common goals. Every team she works with witnesses a renewed momentum and clearer direction, ultimately leading to significant, transformational outcomes.

Now, with Word In Season Consulting, Dr. Miranda is committed to fighting systemic challenges across all organizations. Through her holistic approach and empathetic coaching, she ensures that every voice is heard, valued, and enabled to contribute to the greater good. As an ordained minister, she brings not just expertise but profound care and understanding to every engagement, making her a trusted guide for teams seeking meaningful development and lasting success.

My philosophy.

In a world where knowledge is as close as our fingertips, I am a firm believer that information does not bring transformation. I seek to help my clients move past the noise and into the work of their hearts. Transformation comes where there is revelation—when the things hidden in our hearts come out into the light.
